Applications from outside of the UK

Applications for foreign nationals to come to the UK for the purpose of settlement in the UK must be made at the British Embassy or High Commission in the applicant’s home country or country of normal residence.

A settlement application is where the person (applicant) is intending to live in the UK with their family and it is their intention to make the UK their permanent place of residence and their home.

Settlement applications are: Spouse (husband or wife), Fiancées (intention to marry), Unmarried Partners (living together in relationship), Children (family), Dependant Relatives (family) and certain others.

None settlement applications are those such as Working Holidaymakers, Students, Visitors.  These none settlement applications are where the requirement is for the applicant to return to their home country after their stay in the UK.

All applications are not just formalities and each and every one must be prepared carefully.

Applications are not just a matter of completing a form and providing a few documents.  There are many requirements, the majority of applicants are not aware of these.  In many cases the applicant will need to prepare to be interviewed.  The application procedures vary from country to country, and some British Embassies and High Commissions use courier assisted applications.

British Embassies and High Commissions do not provide information in regard to all of the requirements for a visa application.  Completing the answers to some questions on the visa application form are not as one would expect and in addition it is left for the applicant to provide information verbally when at the interview.  If the applicant does not know what the requirements are, this can lead to difficulties, and in many cases a refusal to issue the Visa.

To enable applicants to make a compliant and confident application our services include analysing the  circumstances and situation of applicant and sponsor in regard to the requirements, preparing the application, and providing the guidance needed for the interview to ensure the requirements are complete and properly presented.

Most people who need to make these applications are unsure of what to expect.  We can put your mind at rest and if there are any areas of concern we can work with you to ensure the application can be presented confidently having addressed any problems.

Client surveys we have carried out indicate our clients have been very happy with the standard and quality of service we have provided to them.  We will provide an invaluable service to you also.
